Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches and finished contributions that help readers see how garden design works: the choices of layout, planting, materials and detail that shape an outdoor space.
What makes a good pitch
Send a concise proposal that names the subject, the central idea and why it suits Select Garden Journal. Explain the specific angle rather than offering a broad topic, and note the format you have in mind, such as an explainer, comparison, design history or seasonal reading. Avoid claims that depend on unverified testing, sweeping promises or instructions requiring specialist judgement.
Contributions we consider
We consider clear, original writing that helps a general reader notice, compare or think through garden design choices. Strong pieces have a distinct focus, useful context and a voice that respects different spaces and preferences. Tell us if a proposal is also being considered elsewhere, and disclose any relevant commercial interest.
How to send a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to submit a pitch. Include a short summary and any relevant writing sample information in your message. A proposal is not a commission, and we may not be able to respond to every submission.
